Losing me

I lost myself
today
In thoughts that are not mine
In memories I never made
And nightmares I never had.
I lost my smile,
For a short while
In the world of shadows
Where darkness awaits behind any lit object,
To frighten every subject.
I lost my dreams,
Running away from my fears
And when I stopped
A tear was all I’ve got.
A tear for my soul,
Who feels sad in this world,
Because today
I lost myself .
