Five years ago, I had to dig deep for to find the answer. Today, on the other hand, the answer is simple and I don’t have to look too hard for it.
My proudest moment is related to my recent hobby: photography. Writing and reading, I have been doing them for quite a while, but photography came into my life at the end of 2015 and my blog is responsible for it. Let me tell you all about it.
One December morning 2015, I woke up thinking I needed a camera. The reason behind it being that I was tired of using other people’s photos on my blog. So why not buy a camera and take my own photos?
And buying my first Bridge camera, led to buying my first DSLR two months later, and my first Mirrorless half a year later. So in six months, I bought three cameras and made photography my hobby.
So all these led to my proudest moment, when in March 2017 whilst I was in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, I received an email congratulating me for winning 2nd National Award in Sony World Photography Awards and inviting me to the awards ceremony in London. That was the first moment in my life when I cried of happiness.
It’s not hard to understand why this was my proudest moment. Coming into photography and winning and award so important after only a year of using a camera, was something huge. On top of that, my photo was also amongst 25 commended photos by the judges in my category. 25 out of hundred thousands. That was amazing, a dream come true!
Even now, after I have also been published in a photographic book, this award seems unreal.
My proudest moments relate to photography, that must be a sign. What about you? What are your proudest moments?
