Psychochromatic Redemption

A bit of everything, just to keep my erroneous mind busy.

Early morning thoughts

Are we better off not knowing things? Can the truth hurt us more than the lies? Is it better to stay in the darkness, than turning your face to the light? Because if the light is too bright, it can be blinding to the naked eye?

These are the question I contemplated on today, whilst listening to the sea. Us, as people, are programmed to have certain expectations, to accept what it is, and forget about what it isn’t. We are programmed to get a job, go to work, come back home, complain about the work we do, always dreaming for better days, get married, complain about own husband/wife, produce offsprings, stress about their wellbeing, complain about their inquisitiveness, get a promotion, buy a house, pay bills and mortgage, retire and die. We spend most of our lives complaining about stuff and another part do our programming. And, in all this hustle, we forget about ourselves. We forget about our dreams, we don’t even discover our hidden talents and most of all we forget to search, to learn. Because learning is unconfortable, learning takes time and in the process, you might discover things that aren’t as you thought they are. You might discover a painful truth, hidden between the beautiful lies. You might get hurt and suffer, because learning and discovery is not easy and it takes a lot of patience…

And then again? Are we ready for that? Or is is better to live your program and die whilst living.

Inspired by a picture

December 11th,

Today’s photograph inspired me into writing a verse:

Smile as there’s no reason not to

Enjoy what you see and connect

Life is wonderful and interesting too

Some words upon to reflect.

A moody day

December 5th,

That is exactly how I feel today, but I quite like how this image turned out.

In between

Line between seasons

It’s very difficult to trace

A beautiful blur.

In fall

L eft in the cold

E arth is calling for me

A short life I lived

F alling is the only choice I have.

Word of the day is halation: n. In photography: a halo-like effect in which light spreads beyond the edges of a bright object in a photograph.

This photo’s halation

It can cause a distraction

From the main subject.

Which Way Photo Challenge

Roads can take you anywhere, in an adventure of a lifetime. The way you go is strictly your own choice. This is my entry for SonOfABeach96’s Which Way Photo Challenge this week:

When I am tired…

I sleep and don’t do much. It seems that I’ve been tired for quite some time as  haven’t written anything in such a long time. It would be fancy to say I have been travelling and spending my time on a sandy beach, but the truth is I’ve been busy with work and projects.

One of them is an Instagram project where I show photographs from the places I love, places that are dear to my heart, either because I consider them home or because they’ve changed me in a way or another. So if sometimes you are bored and have nothing to do, search @hip.travels on Instagram and you can join me in the living like a local experience.

This is a photo I took on my day off when I decided to explore the areas around Paphos, Cyprus. This is taken in Coral Bay.

Monochrome days

Must admit I really like this city. It’s vibrant, interesting and it doesn’t stop to amaze me.  Here are some more images in timeless black and white:
