It’s been 2 weeks since I returned to my home town of Sunderland. 2 weeks.
That’s all it took to feel as though the last 4 months have been a dream. Of course you still have the collection of memories and the ridiculous amounts of photos on your phone to refer back to, but as time dwindles on and you settle into home life once again, the novelty of returning home soon disappears.
Not to sound like a Debbie Downer here mind it’s not all bad.
Little things I took for granted which were a miss abroad, are soon very much appreciate on return. The highlight of course reuniting with family and friends. These relationships are perpetual, bonds are still as strong from when you first said your goodbyes. Infact, nothing at home really does change.
